Columbia, Ill (KSDK) -- Ever since Chris Coleman, 34, was arrested for the murders of his wife and two young sons, Chris' family has not talked in-depth, on camera, about the situation. That is, until now.
Coleman's parents, Ron and Connie, and his brother Brad, sat down exclusively with NewsChannel 5's Ryan Dean for their first television interview.
The Colemans said they've been wanting to talk before this, but couldn't because they feared it would jeopardize the trial. But now that their son has been found guilty of killing his wife Sheri, 31, and his sons Garett, 11, and Gavin, 9, the Colemans' feel people need to hear from their side.
"When people see that new mug shot, a lot of people say monster, devil. What do you see when you look at that mug shot and see Chris Coleman?" NewsChannel 5's Ryan Dean asked Ron Coleman.
"A tired, disappointing, hurting young man, because that is not his character at all," Ron Coleman responded.
Even though Chris has been found guilty by a jury, the Colemans say Chris still says he's innocent and says God knows where he's at.
Tonight, on NewsChannel 5 at 10, the Colemans will talk about what Chris has said to them about the murders. Now that they've been through the trial and heard the evidence, do they believe Chris is a killer? Also, what they say went wrong in court. And lastly, you'll see the first letter Chris sent to his parents from prison.
