St. Louis (KSDK) -- If you're still clipping coupons, put down the scissors and get ready to get online.
Rebecca Routson, who was featured on TLC's "Extreme Couponing" earlier this year, said she spends $50 a month on groceries, personal care items, and cleaning supplies for two people.
She said she does it with the help of free coupon websites. www.coupons.com, www.smartsource.com, and www.couponnetwork.com to name a few. Just type in your zip code, click the coupons you want, and print the manufacturer's coupon.
She says the savings are typically higher with online coupons, but there may not be as many available compared to the Sunday paper. To save even more money using online sites, she suggests a little trick to find hidden coupons.
Rebecca Routson said consumers should try using different zip codes. Her favorite zip code is 90210. "You can always find a few different coupons out there, sometimes higher value coupons as well. "
Because of "Extreme Couponing," she now teaches coupon classes at a local community college.
