CHICAGO (AP) - Illinois' lieutenant governor is urging residents to use the state's jobs database to find new jobs.
In a news release issued after a new round of layoffs of civilian employees at Scott Air Force Base was announced this week, Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon says state residents and employers can connect on Illinois JobLink. The site is maintained through the state's Department of Employment Security.
Simon says the database aggregates job postings from nationwide websites as well as small businesses and companies around Illinois. Employers can post openings free of charge, and those looking for work aren't charged to access the job postings and can contact employers at no cost.
