Attorney General Chris Koster
Jefferson City, MO (KSDK) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster said Friday he will send Assistant Attorneys General to every county the week of March 26 to help residents understand the national mortgage settlement.
Residents will also be able to register with his office if they think they might qualify to receive benefits under the program.
According to Koster, $156 million will help Missouri homeowners and people who have had their homes foreclosed upon. If the full $156 million is not used, the money could go to other states.
The settlement applies to the five largest banks in the nation: Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, and Ally Financial (GMAC).
For more information on the mortgage settlement, visit the Attorney General's website or call their hotline at 855-870-7676.
