Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
St. Louis (KSDK) -- Two-thirds of the renovations to the baggage area in Lambert-St. Louis Airport's Terminal 1 are complete and will be unveiled to the public.
Baggage Carousels 3 and 4 will be reopened for airline use Wednesday. The renovations include higher and brighter ceilings, circular cove lighting, newer wall finishes, improved heating and ventilation systems and new directional signage.
The final phase of the Bag Claim renovations will begin this week with the closure of Bag Carousels 5 and 6.
Work is also underway this week with the demolition of an escalator and stairwell between the ticketing level and the lower level by the former B Concourse checkpoint. The space will be kept open as an atrium between the two levels of the terminal.
The renovations are part of Lambert's $70 million Airport Experience Program which is focused on major interior improvements to Terminal 1 and its concourses.
