St. Louis (KSDK) -- Prosecutors have charged Eric Lawson, 23, of the 4800 block of San Francisco with twelve felonies, including three counts of First Degree Murder.
Court documents show Lawson confessed to the double shooting and fire that killed his former girlfriend, her mother and his infant son.
Police say Lawson shot both women in the head and then set a bed and a recliner on fire. Lawson told investigators he then left, locking the door behind him with the shooting vicitms and two small children still in the home.
Firefighters were called to the home on South Jefferson near Ann Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived they found heavy flames coming from the third floor. Firefighters found four victims inside the burning home. Breiana Ray, 22, and Gwendolyn Ray, 50, died at the scene. An infant and a child were rushed to an area hospital. The infant, 10-month-old Aiden Lawson, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other child, a 3-year-old girl, remains hospitalized. She suffered from smoke inhalation and family friends say she is expected to survive. They say she will be living with relatives when she is released from the hospital.
Police say both women had been shot in the head. The infant is believed to have died from smoke inhalation. The child who remains hospitalized also suffered from smoke inhalation.
Funeral arrangements are still being finalized.
