St. Louis (KSDK)-- The search is on for a man who rammed a police cruiser in south St. Louis County and then took off on foot.

It all started around ten last night when officers tried to stop a car on Tesson Ferry Road near the Southmoor Apartments.

Instead of stopping, the driver rammed a police cruiser.

The man then drove off as an officer fired shots at the car.

A short time later it was found stuck in a creek in a nearby wooded area.

Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

Police say the car was reported stolen out of Park Hills, Missouri.

No officers were hurt, and police don't think the man was hit by gunfire.
