Police search for attackers in Benton Park shooting

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) --   A man walking with a friend in Benton Park was struck by gunfire Tuesday night.

Police say the 34-year-old victim and a friend noticed three people approaching them in the park around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, all three were wearing masks or some type of cloth to cover their faces.

The victim told investigators out of fear, he and his friend began to run when a shot was fired and struck the unidentified man in the lower leg.

The victim was able to make it to his nearby home where he summoned police. 

Investigators have not established a definite motive in the crime and have little description of the three alleged attackers.
