Louis Stallings dies in Fort Leonard Wood incident

Fort Leonard Wood, MO (KSDK) - Three Department of Army civilians were injured Wednesday, and one was killed during an incident while conducting railroad maintenance to Fort Leonard Wood's railroad spur.

The civilian that died in the incident was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:09 p.m. Wednesday.  The person has been identified as Louis Stallings of Atoka, Oklahoma.

Two of the injured were airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri where they are listed in stable condition.

The third injured civilian was taken by ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri to be treated for minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Fort Leonard Wood says the incident is under investigation, but further details have not been disclosed.

The names of the victims have not been released.
