(KSDK) - A 2-year-old Union, MO girl drowned in a neighbor's inflatable pool just after 8 a.m.

Union Police say they received a call around 8:15 a.m. for 2-year-old twins missing from the 1100 block of Halligen Estates.

The twins' mother was at work.  They had been left at home with her boyfriend.  A 3-year-old in the home saw the back door to their mobile home was open and woke up the mother's boyfriend.

The mother of the children was called home by her boyfriend.  The twins, a boy and girl, were found three lots away.  The girl, Payton Craig, was found at the bottom of the pool in about 18 inches of water.  The boy was found safe between two mobile homes.

The mother began performing CPR on the child.  EMS arrived a short time later and attempted to revive the child.  She was taken to Mercy Hospital in Washington where she was pronounced dead.

Union Police are continuing to investigate the incident.  The Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney will review the case when police finish their investigation.
