Several cars were damaged in an attempt to steal them. They were eventually successful, and two cars were stolen. They were later abandoned in north St. Louis.

Around 4 a.m. August 3 Fairview Heights police interrupted several suspects in the process of stealing a vehicle where the first incident happened.

The suspects left the scene in a 2008 white Saturn Aura, which was reported stolen from St. Louis. It was last seen traveling westbound on Interstate 64.

Several other vehicles were found to be damaged on the Insta-Credit Auto Mark lot after this incident.

On August 5 several burglary to vehicle reports were made at hotels along Ludwig Drive. The reports were filed by hotel guests after they woke up. Police believe the crimes happened between midnight and 6 a.m.
