St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- Officials are investigating the death of an inmate in a St. Louis jail.
Police say 38-year-old Ronald Pullum, Jr., was found dead in his cell at the Medium Security Institution (MSI) around 6:49 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Pullum had been in a cell by himself for the past two weeks, and investigators say guards on the overnight rounds had not reported anything wrong with the inmate.
Guards went into Pullum's cell to give him his breakfast Wednesday, when they discovered him to be unresponsive.
Police say the cause of death is not yet known, but a preliminary autopsy found there to be no suspicious circumstances regarding his death and there is no evidence of any injury.
Pullum was in prison for domestic assault and trespassing charges.
The final cause of death is pending a complete autopsy.
