Hazelwood School District appoints new interim superintendent

Hazelwood, MO (KSDK) - The Hazelwood School District has appointed a new interim superintendent and interim associate superintendent.

Dr. Grayling Tobias will replace Dr. Steve Price as interim superintendent of schools.

A spokesperson for the Hazelwood School District has Dr. Tobias has over 25 years of experience in education, and is currently the assistant superintendent for learning for the district.

He has worked for the district for 10 years, and was previously the director of secondary education and assistant superintendent for accountability.

Before his time with the Hazelwood School District, Dr. Tobias was a middle school principal for the Riverview Gardens School District, and a high school assistant principal, middle school assistant principal, and teacher in the Parkway School District.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a Master of Arts degree in secondary school administration from Truman State University, and a doctorate in education leadership from Saint Louis University.

Dr. Ingrid Clark-Jackson has been named as interim associate superintendent.

She has 32 years of educational experience and is currently the assistant superintendent for human resources for the district.

Dr. Clark-Jackson was principal of Hazelwood West High School for two years, was an administrator for the Ritenour School District for 13 years, and was an English teacher for 10 years.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Northeast Missouri State University, a master's degree in business administration from Maryville University, and a specialist degree in education administration from Saint Louis University, and a doctorate in education administration from Maryville University.

The changes will take effect immediately.
