Pacific, MO (KSDK) - Isaac's marathon of rain cleared out some campsites this holiday weekend, but not all. Some families are still roughing it this Labor Day Weekend.
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park's activities were moved indoors to accommodate the people still camping.
"We don't want anything to dampen the spirits of the holiday, the last little holiday, so we are going to do whatever we can to make it fun and not hazardous," said Scott Jones who owns the park.
He says usually Labor Day weekend is one of his busiest, but not this year.
"I would say a lot of people have canceled due to the rain and the weather threat," said Jones.
Lisa Copeland is one of them. She came to the park with her family from England and was planning on spending time with her family.
"We had a really bad summer in England this year so we were really looking forward to the sunshine and we got into St. Louis and it's raining again just like England. It followed us here," said Copeland.
Other people like Michael Burrow and his family are altering their plans.
"We were supposed to be in a pop up camper but we decided not to test it out in such a rain storm so we upgraded to a cabin," said Burrow.
Michael and his family have been coming here for the past three Labor Day weekends. He says the rain is putting a damper on the holiday.
"I'm hoping the rain stops so we can go on with our weekend and have a good time," said Burrow.
Jones says usually the park has a seven day cancelation policy but he's making an exception for those who would like to cancel Labor Day weekend. Other parks have different policies. Most NewsChannel5 checked with only offer rain checks.
