Clayton, MO (KSDK) - A guilty plea from a Florissant man charged in the May 2011 death of a three year old child under his care.
Prosecutors say 23 year old Zachary Cook admitted his guilt to evidence charging him with second degree murder and child abuse resulting in the death of Austin Vietor.
Florissant Police responded to the Cook home and found the child with severe head injuries after they say Cook became frustrated with the little boy and began to shake the child, then throwing the youngster into the floor.
The child was taken to the hospital, but died several days later.
Cook entered his guilty plea Tuesday afternoon before Judge Thomas De Priest who ordered a presentence investigation before announcing Cook's punishment in November.
