St. Louis County (KSDK) -- A year has passed since the murder of Xavier Ferguson, 46.
"It's pretty bad," said Dr. Gloria E. Ferguson. Her son was shot and killed October 3, 2011.
"I have to pray a lot to get through the situation I have been going through," said Gloria.
Now she and her husband are offering a reward for information that leads to the conviction of whoever is responsible for her son's death.
"The reward will be $10, 000," said Ferguson. "I know somebody out there knows something. Even the person who did it. Usually people talk to somebody. In nightclubs, out on the street, friends, relatives. I'm appealing to the public for any help."
Xavier was murdered at his home on Nolte.
"Someone drove by and shot him," said Gloria. "That's what they first announced on the news. Later they said somebody may have been hanging around the house and waited until he came out of the house."
Xavier was director of the Ferguson's daycare center, Chapel of Praise Church Rich & Little Pre-School.
"He worked there for about 17 years," said Gloria. "He was qualified to do other things because he was a college graduate. And he was also a second lieutenant in the army."
St. Louis County Police Saturday night confirmed the Xavier Ferguson case is an active investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
