JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A state nominating commission has selected three finalists for Gov. Jay Nixon to fill a vacancy on the Missouri Supreme Court.

The three finalists are Jackson County Circuit Judge Michael Manners, St. Louis attorney Stanley Wallach and Columbia attorney Paul Wilson. Wilson is a former Cole County circuit judge. He previously worked for Nixon when he was attorney general and in his administration when he became governor.

Nixon now has 60 days to decide whether to appoint one of the finalists to replace Supreme Court Judge William Ray Price Jr., who stepped down from the high court in August.

The nominating commission interviewed 18 judicial candidates and spent nearly three hours deliberating.
