Clayton, MO (KSDK) - The embattled former Mayor of Valley Park is on the docket in St. Louis County Court Thursday to appear on felony fraud charges related to his use of city funds and credit.
27 year old Nathan Grellner is charged with four counts of felony fraud after allegedly using a credit card issued to the City of Valley Park for his own personal use.
Investigators have accused Grellner of using the credit cards to buy household appliances as well as entertainment at area strip clubs and restaurant tabs
Grellner; who resigned his post as Mayor on July 26, 2012, explained he had a similar looking credit card issued to himself and the entire episode was just a misunderstanding.
If convicted of the fraud charges, Grellner faces up to 16 years in prison. He's also awaiting an unrelated court hearing in Jefferson County following an incident earlier this year in which he's accused being drunk and taking Byrnes Mill Police on a pursuit and later assaulted an officer.
