De Soto woman seriously hurt in collision near Fletcher

Jefferson County, MO (KSDK) - A two car collision in Jefferson County Wednesday sent three people, including two who were airlifted, to the hospital.

Missouri Highway Patrol officials say Paula Ellsworth, 27 of De Soto, was driving westbound on Highway H and was trying to make a left turn onto Big Pine Place when she pulled into the path of an eastbound car.  The time of the crash was reported to be just after 3:00 Wednesday afternoon.

The two cars collided, leaving Ellsworth severely injured.  She was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.  The other driver, identified as 63 year old Johnny Hollingsworth of Richwoods was also taken to Mercy Hospital by helicopter, with less serious injuries.

A child in the Ellsworth car, Kayla Galczynski, 9 of De Soto suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital in Jefferson County.
