MORRISON, Ill. (AP) - Testimony is set to continue for a fourth day in the northern Illinois trial of a man accused of killing eight people in a two-state spree in 2008.

Nicholas Sheley is on trial for the death of 93-year-old Russell Reed of Sterling.

The (Sterling) Daily Gazette reports prosecutors will present more witnesses Thursday in Whiteside County.

On Wednesday, one of Sheley's acquaintances testified she saw him the day of Reed's death wearing blood-stained clothing. Ashley Gonzales also told jurors that Sheley joked he'd just gotten done "killing somebody." Gonzales says Sheley explained away the blood by saying he'd just gutted a fish.

Sheley has pleaded not guilty in Reed's death. He's already been sentenced to life in prison for the bludgeoning death of a Galesburg man.
