St. Louis (KSDK) -- The eastbound lanes and ramps of I-64 will be closed in downtown St. Louis this weekend.
Missouri Department of Transportation Community Relations Specialist Andrew Gates said the closure will be from Jefferson Avenue to the Poplar Street Bridge beginning at 8 p.m. Friday.
Crews will have one lane and most ramps reopened by 5 a.m. November 12. All lanes will be reopened by 2 p.m. for the evening rush.
During the closure, crews will work on the double deck structure over I-55 and the depressed lanes of I-70. While crews are working above, drivers on I-55 heading to the depressed lanes may be detoured onto Memorial Drive and back to the interstate for safety reasons.
Drivers who want to avoid the construction should take Jefferson to eastbound I-44 and follow the interstate back to the Poplar Street Bridge.
The Pine Street and Forest Park Avenue ramps to eastbound I-64 remain closed until crews are able to complete joint work at the top of the ramps.
