Los Angeles (KSDK) - It is a moment most of us can't even imagine; standing on a stage in front of your idols hoping to impress.
"This is definitely the scariest thing I've ever experienced in my life," explained Melanie Martinez, one of the final twelve contestants on NBC's "The Voice."
"I really wanted to smack Carson across the face and I mean it in the nicest way. I mean having to stand there and wait and wait and wait, the anticipation! I'm a teenage girl it killed me, absolutely killed me," added Michaela Paige.
And even if their name is called there are conflicting feelings.
"I mean everyone deserves to be here. It's really hard because as the teams get narrowed down you can't help be get close to everyone," Martinez said.
Of course, in the very beginning as they take the stage waiting for a chair to turn they not only have a dream, but a plan.
"Yeah, you've got a plan you might throw that plan straight out the window as soon as they all turn around, but I had Blake in mind when they turned around," Terry McDermott said.
Now it's out of their coach's hands and into the viewers and although it will be disappointing if it all ends here it's been an unforgettable ride.
"It's truly a dream come true to be honest with you. I know it might sound a little cliche, but again it's not every day that you get this opportunity," Nicholas David added.
