St. Louis (KSDK) - A north St. Louis woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree robbery charges in a bizarre series of events that left her hospitalized with severe injuries after she jumped from the roof of a building as police closed in to arrest her.
Michelle Faye White, 34, was arrested in August 2011 following the crime at the drive thru lane of the White Castle restaurant on Hebert Street in north St. Louis.
Police say White, armed with a toy gun announced a hold-up, then climbed through the drive-thru counter window and stole the cash drawer around 3:00 a.m. in the morning.
White then fled the crime scene, but not before her license number was recorded by another patron in the drive thru lane.
Police tracked White to a nearby residence where she was hiding, then jumped from the rooftop in an attempt to escape officers.
White will be sentenced January 4, 2013.
