FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS (KSDK) -- If you're squeezed for shopping time on Black Friday, don't cheat by using a handicap-accessible parking spot.

The Illinois Secretary of State Police is cracking down on illegal use of disability parking spots on Black Friday. It's the 7th year for the enforcement program.

Police will enforce the parking law at several malls across the state, including St. Clair Square in Fairview Heights.

Shoppers can also report scofflaws by calling (217)-785-0309

The fine is $500. Violators could also have their licenses suspended for 30 days.
