St. Louis County, MO (KSDK) - A 19-year-old Pagedale man was charged last week after shooting another man in the back following an argument over Thanksgiving dinner, the St. Louis County Police Department said Tuesday.

According to police, the shooting happened at about 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night at a residence in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Investigators said Corey Wiggins and 53-year-old Turhan Scott were arguing at the dinner table about Scott's food stamps debit card being used to pay for the meal. As Corey Wiggins attempted to walk out the back door, Turhan Scott said something to him about the cost of the dinner, which led Wiggins to pull out a gun and shoot Scott in the back. Wiggins shot Scott six additional times.

On the day before the shooting, investigators said the two men were involved in another argument, and that Turhan Scott threatened Wiggins with a screwdriver.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Corey Wiggins with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He remains jailed on $500,000 cash bond.
