Rodrigues Cosey admits to attempting to cash counterfeit check

St. Louis (KSDK) -- A St. Louis man already on supervised release admitted to trying to pass a counterfeit check.

The U.S. Attorney's Office of the Eastern District of Missouri said Rodrigues Cosey pleaded guilty to attempting to cash a counterfeit check at a Webster Groves credit union. The bank personnel was suspicious and called Webster Groves police.

Cosey was on supervised release for a 2009 federal conviction for a similar incident.

He faces 24 months in prison for violating his supervised release.  He faces up to 10 years in prison and fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing for both matters will take place on February 26, 2013.
