Wood River, IL (KSDK) - Christmas came a few weeks early for some local kids and their families.
On Tuesday night they got to go on a shopping spree at the Wood River Walmart.
Wood River police officers and members of the motorcycle community helped them load up their carts with everything from toys to kitchen appliances.
It's all part of the Patches and Badges for Kids program.
School nurses and social workers choose needy families to participate in the shopping sprees during the holiday season.
