KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Chiefs have established a formal trust for Zoey Belcher, the infant daughter orphaned by her father, linebacker Jovan Belcher, six days ago.

Belcher killed Zoey Belcher's mother, Kasandra Perkins, before committing suicide.

The family of Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt, Kansas City players and coaches have already donated to the trust fund, the team announced in a statement Friday morning.

"Zoey will always be a part of the Chiefs family, and we hope that this trust will help to ensure she has the resources necessary as she grows up," Hunt said in a statement.

The public may also contribute to the fund, which has been established through UMB Bank in Kansas City.

Zoey Belcher, who is in the care of Belcher's mother, is also eligible for more than $1 million from the NFL's surviving child benefit, including a payment of $9,000 per month for the next four years.
