North St. Louis (KSDK) - Residents of a north St. Louis home were able to escape injury, despite a early morning fire that filled the house with smoke.
St. Louis firefighters got the call for the blaze around 3:00 a.m. Thursday and found thick, heavy smoke billowing from the second story of the residence in the 4600 block of St. Louis Avenue.
By the time fire officials arrived, the people inside the home had gotten out safely.
Firefighters concentrated on the second floor where the fire originated, however a cause for the fire remains unknown.
Damage to the interior of the home was extensive due to the fire, smoke and water.
