Francis Howell band stuck in Arkansas due to snow
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KSDK) - The St. Louis metropolitan area may not have had much of a 'White Christmas' to speak of, but a local marching band got trapped in the snow on its way to perform at a college football bowl game in Texas.
The Francis Howell High School Marching Band left St. Charles Tuesday night for San Antonio, Texas, site of the Valero Alamo Bowl.
The band got stuck on US Highway 67, 80 miles north of Little Rock, Arkansas, around 5 a.m. Wednesday. The trip from St. Charles to San Antonio is approximately 949 miles.
#23 Texas faces #13 Oregon State in the Valero Alamo Bowl this Saturday, December 29 at 5:45 p.m.
The band was back on the road by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
