ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) - A 32-year-old man believed to be responsible for at least 3 robberies in the last week was arrested Thursday night, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

According to Leah Freeman, a police spokeswoman, the first robbery occurred January 20 at 8:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Arkansas. The victim, a 27-year-old man, told police he was walking to his home when the suspect walked up to him, revealed a weapon, and demanded his wallet. The suspect took the victim's cell phone and laptop and fled the scene.

The second incident occurred the same night around 9:55 p.m. in the 3700 block of Lindell, Freeman said. The victim, a 21-year-old woman, said she was walking down the block when the suspect approached and displayed a weapon and demanded her purse. The victim handed over her purse and the suspect ran off.

Freeman said the third robbery took place around 2:05 a.m. on January 24 in the 3600 block of Lindell. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, told investigators she was walking when the suspect approached and revealed a weapon. The suspect stole the woman's purse and then fled the scene in a vehicle.

On the morning of January 18, the suspect walked into the Family Dollar in the 3700 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive with a gun and demanded money from the clerk. When the clerk couldn't open the cash register, the suspect fled the store without taking anything.

Freeman said charges are expected to be filed against the suspect on Friday.
