FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (WXIA) - A Georgia high school senior was arrested after allegedly posting a threatening message on social media.
The message on Instragram threatened Flowery Branch High School in northern Georgia.
An 18-year-old senior, identified as Tiffani Torres, is accused of writing a message about a possible shooting at the school.
Investigators searched the campus Monday morning after a student showed the message to a parent, but no weapons were found.
Hall County school district spokesman Gordon Higgins says Torres did not threaten any specific person in the message, but it did cause problems.
"This message caused a total disruption of the school day for these students here, the 1,600 students of Flowery Branch High School, over a thousand of whom had their parents come to the school to check them out once they got text messages from their students saying there's a report of a shooting at the school," said Higgins.
Torres was arrested Tuesday and was held on $1,000 bond.
She's charged with one count of disruption of a public school and has also been suspended from school.
