(KSDK Sports) -- Leading the list of non-roster invitees to Spring Training this year is Cardinals 2012 Minor League Player of the Year, outfielder Oscar Taveras.
The Cardinals love his bat and for good reason. Taveras hit .321 in 2012 in Double-A Springfield with 23 homers and 94 RBI. But with the club's current outfield of Holliday, Jay and Beltran set for now, there is no reason to rush Taveras.
General manager John Mozeliak says there is a low probablity that Taveras makes the Opening Day roster, but he isn't ruling it out either.
