CAHOKIA, Ill. (KSDK) - More cuts in state aid are expected for school districts throughout the financially-troubled state of Illinois.
Monday night Cahokia school officials announced they are considering cancelling some athletics and laying off several specialty teachers such as art and P.E. instructors. Educators say such dramatic measures are also being considered by other school districts.
The legislature is not in session right now but it's expected to make a decision on state aid to schools by March.
