Joplin, MO (KSDK) - Two people, including a St. Louis area man, died in a head-on crash in southwest Missouri late Wednesday afternoon.

Missouri Highway Patrol officials tell NewsChannel-5 the crash occurred just after 5:30 p.m. yesterday on Route HH just east of Joplin in Jasper County.

Authorities say an eastbound car driven by Brandon Stuckey, 22 of Belleville, Illinois, crossed the centerline of the road and struck an oncoming westbound pick-up truck head-on.

Stuckey was killed in the crash.  The driver of the pick-up truck, Julie Cartwright, 48 of Joplin, was also killed in the collision.  A male infant who was in a child restraint seat in the pick-up truck survived the wreck and according to troopers was uninjured.

Both Stuckey and Cartwright were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
