ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Cardinals released new images on Twitter Thursday of what Ballpark Village will look like once it is complete.
Preliminary site work started late last week, and official groundbreaking for the first phase of Ballpark Village will be held at 11 a.m.
The first phase of Ballpark Village is slated to be complete by Opening Day 2014 and will cost $100 million. The project will include 100,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space on Clark Street next to Busch Stadium. Streets, parking, and site infrastructure are also included in the first phase.
Other structures that will be built in the first phase include Cardinals Nation, Budweiser Brew House, and Live! at Ballpark Village.
Cardinals Nation will be a 30,000 square foot venue comprised of three levels and will include a two-story restaurant, a Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum, and a 300-plus seat deck with views into Busch Stadium.
Budweiser Brew House will be a two-story, 20,000 square foot structure with a rooftop party deck that will allow views into Busch Stadium.
Live! at Ballpark Village will connect Cardinals Nation and Budweiser Brew House and will be an indoor market with a retractable canopy that can be used as a gathering space year-round.
