Report: Rams hire new defensive coordinator

(Inside the Huddle) -- Rams Tailgate Show contributor and Rams beat writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Jim Thomas is reporting that the Rams have found there next defensive coordinator.

It appears the Rams defense will be led next season by Detroit Lions assistant coach Tim Walton.  Thomas cites "multiple league sources."

According to the report, the job was offered to Walton on Tuesday and he accepted and a final deal should be in place by Friday.

Filling the job has been as dramatic as it comes, featuring the high profile interview of former Dallas coach Rob Ryan, who declined in then end.  Next up was Dick Jauron, the former defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, and Mike Singletary, who has the title of special assistant to the head coach/linebackers with the Minnesota Vikings.
