ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Severe weather season is just around the corner, and now is the time to get ready.

Where do you get your weather information?

Thanks to advances in technology, there are numerous ways to find weather information that you need to keep you safe.

We'll start online. There are tons of web sources with severe weather information. Our favorites, are weather.gov and our very own KSDK.com, where you can also sign up for mobile text alerts on breaking weather information.

Speaking of mobile, you can get on these very websites using your smart phone or tablet. For the extra savvy consumer, you can download numerous weather apps on both the iPhone and Android platforms.

Of course, we at KSDK.com offer our own free weather app, the First Alert Weather app. You can watch the radar and get your severe alerts from there as well.

Another great source for breaking weather information is a NOAA weather radio. Set your radio for alerts that cover your home, which is a great way to keep your family safe, especially at night, while you sleep.

Last but not least, over there air. Tune in to NewsChannel 5 when severe weather threatens your home. We're there to warn you with up-to-the-minute severe weather information.
