ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Ameren Missouri has opened its Emergency Operations Center to provide support for service in mid-Missouri.

A spokesperson for Ameren says the center opened at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Approximately 13,000 Ameren Missouri customers do not have power in Jefferson City, Lake of the Ozarks, Boonville, Moberly, Brookfield, and Excelsior Springs.

Crews from Ameren Missouri's Boone Trails District, located in Wentzville and St. Charles, will be moved to assist crews in central Missouri. There will be 250 linemen and tree trimmers deployed to the areas affected by the winter storm.

Ameren officials want to remind everyone to stay away from downed power lines and to call Ameren Missouri at 1-800-552-7583 or 911. All downed power lines should be assumed to be energized.
