The Westport News reports that Mike Hvizdo, who was forced to resign as the Weston (Conn.) boys basketball coach on Feb. 7 after school officials learned he appeared in a raunchy nine-minute comedy film in 2003, was reinstated on Friday.

School administrators released a statement, which read, in part: "Through further discussion, we have worked through the issues surrounding Mr. Hvizdo's resignation, which he has been permitted to rescind, and have clarified the district's expectations concerning his performance. We welcome Mr. Hvizdo back to our coaching staff, and we wish him and the Boys Basketball team every success for the future."

Weston, which is seeded 23rd in Class M, opens state tournament play against 10th-seeded University tonight. Hvizdo, who missed five games, said tonight's game will be "emotional." Hvizdo also said he wasn't surprised that he was reinstated.

"This whole ride has been surreal and kind of shocking," he told the Westport News. "I'm probably still in shock over the whole ordeal and how silly it was."
