ROLLA, Mo. (AP) - Police in Rolla are investigating the death of a student at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
The university has released the name of the young woman who died in Farrar Hall -- Kaitlin Brown, a 19 year old studying business and information technology from Mission, Kansas.
Campus police were notified that Brown had died in her room around 2:30, early Saturday morning. How she died, who found her or if anyone was with her when she died police aren't saying.
But the campus police have called in Rolla Police for help.
"It's a way to draw on the resources from both departments. The Rolla PD can provide a breadth of expertise that we don't have on the campus," said Missouri S&T spokesman Andrew Careaga.
"We want to do the due diligence to thoroughly investigate this situation," said Careaga.
The Rolla Police Chief says an autopsy is planned for Tuesday.
