ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Workers at the New Mississippi River Bridge held a moment of silence Thursday morning for a St. Francois County man killed while working on the bridge one year ago today.

Thirty-five-year-old Andy Gammon was working on a barge when the crane came down, pulling him into the river.

Workers honored Andy Gammon with a moment of silence at the construction site at 9:55 a.m.

Lawmakers are also considering renaming a stretch of Interstate 70 leading up to the bridge in his honor.
