ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis police identified two people they are looking for after a 39-year-old man was shot in north St. Louis Wednesday evening when he says he went to look at a car he found on Craigslist.

As the man drove up to a home in the 4400 block of Elmbank to see the vehicle for sale, two men approached the victim's car.

Major Rochelle Jones says one man walked up to the driver's side, and the other walked up to the passenger side. The man on the passenger side then started firing shots into the vehicle.

The victim was able to drive a few blocks to the O'Reilly Auto Parts in the 4300 block of Natural Bridge to get help.

Maj. Jones says the victim was shot multiple times. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He was in stable condition Thursday morning.

She says they have a vague description of the suspects and urges the public to call police if they saw or heard anything in the 4400 block of Elmbank shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday.
