ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against two men for a police pursuit that caused a St. Louis police officer to wreck a patrol car.
Eric Hayes, 21, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and two counts of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. His bond is set at $40,000.
Kevon Hayes, 20, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, and resisting/interfering with arrest. He is held on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
The pair is accused of running from police at Benton and N. Jefferson Wednesday afternoon.
The pursuit ended at Forest Park and Skinker when police say the two attempted to run from police. They were both taken into custody.
Sometime during the pursuit a St. Louis police vehicle was involved in an accident with another vehicle. Two people inside the car were injured.
No police were injured during the incident.
Authorities have not said why officers were pursuing the vehicle.
