MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) - The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District will close one lane of northbound Hanley Road to make emergency repairs to a 42 inch metal storm water sewer that has collapsed.
The northbound curb-side lane south of Manchester Road will close and work will begin at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
More lane closures may be required once work begins and throughout the day.
Drivers who use this route are urged to use an alternate route.
The repairs come after MSD received a report about a sinking roadway. When crews arrived they found a depression in the lane and discovered a section of the storm water sewer is collapsing.
Crews laid asphalt on the road as a temporary repair.
MSD officials say the outside lanes in both directions in this area will be closed for several days.
