ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - St. Louis Community College is addressing safety concerns after more women came forward saying they had all been victimized by the same man.
The assaults happened on the Meramec campus on Big Bend.
The chancellor St. Louis Community College says the buck stops with her.
Dr. Myrtle Dorsey says her administration didn't respond fast enough when a 19-year-old female student was assaulted by 18-year-old Jevon Mallory, a former male student who has been expelled.
He was arrested once and released. He returned to campus, was arrested again, and now he is in jail.
Dorsey admits security failed to inform students and staff in a timely manner about the incidents and she has apologized.
She says safety and other procedures are being reviewed in light of the college's delayed response to the attack.
The victim, Blythe Grupe, spoke to NewsChannel 5 a few days ago and we protected her identity. She has now decided to reveal herself publicly.
Dorsey says she plans to personally call Grupe to apologize.
