BERKELEY, Mo. (KSDK) - The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged a 32-year-old Florissant man for allegedly gunning down a 20-year-old over the weekend.
According to Officer Randy Vaughn, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, the shooting took place Sunday, April 28 in the 9300 block of Koenig Circle in Berkeley.
The victim, identified as Paul Moore, was riding in the backseat of a passenger vehicle when the car stopped and one of the passengers got out. As Moore and the other people in the car waited, a man approached the vehicle and shot Moore.
Vaughn said the driver sped away and sought help from police officers at the Quik Trip at Natural Bridge Road and Interstate 170. Paul Moore died at the scene.
The Berkeley Police Department turned the investigation over to county police, which identified and arrested a suspect - Jerrin Brown.
Vaughn said Brown was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He remains jailed on $250,000 bond.
