ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Police are looking for a gunman who shot a woman in north St. Louis early Tuesday morning.
Investigators were called to the 2000 block of Howard just before 4 a.m. Tuesday after the 24-year-old woman called for help.
Police arrived and found the victim with two bullet wounds to her leg.
Originally, the woman told police she was seated in her car when the suspect approached her, opened her car door, showed a gun, and shot her twice.
On Tuesday afternoon Schron Jackson, a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, said the incident did not occur as originally stated and that the woman was shot at an unknown home in north St. Louis.
Jackson says the facts surrounding the entire incident are still unclear but remains under investigation.
