ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Several hundred motorcyclists passed through St. Louis Tuesday en route to a Memorial Day gathering in our nation's capitol.
Approximately 550 motorcyclists met at the Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital earlier Tuesday morning for a short ceremony before heading to Mt. Vernon, Illinois for another stop.
This weekend, the bikers will join thousands of other motorcyclists from across the country as part of the 'Run for the Wall' gathering at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Less than 40 people from Missouri are still listed as POW or MIA in Vietnam.
Organizers of the 'Run for the Wall' say the tradition is a powerful way to make sure those veterans are never forgotten.
