Stan Musial's house hits the market
LADUE, Mo. (The Chirp) - The home of Cardinals legend and Hall of Famer Stan Musial is now on the market. Today, in a real estate blog, we learned the home is for sale, and pictures of the Musial residence are included.
Musial passed away back in January, and now his family has decided to place the home on the market, listing for $1.795 million.
Here is a description of the home: A traditional mid-century with European flair, Musial's estate was built in 1962, and, much like a certain Hall of Fame second baseman, it appears that not much has changed since that time.
The 5,286-square-foot home opens to a grand foyer with a checkerboard marble floor and moves seamlessly into a living room lined with French doors. Further on, a library and den with patio access connects to the master suite, one of 4 bedrooms and 7 baths, while the dining room transitions through its own set of French doors and onto a brick patio.
Outside, the three-acre grounds features a pool set in brick, and a finished lower level with a rec room, wet bar and changing rooms.
Musial died January 19, 2013 at 92 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
